Joshua Freedman
Lawyer
Josh is a thoughtful advocate who helps clients work through their regulatory cases in a professional and thorough manner.
Josh’s practice is focused on professional regulation and discipline. Prior to joining Glick Feinberg Stone, Josh worked as a prosecutor for the Ministry of the Attorney General for 8 years, where he conducted numerous regulatory trials, appeals, and motions in the Ontario Court of Justice and Superior Court of Justice. He has strong litigation experience in the areas of criminal and regulatory law, with a focus on the rules of evidence. His past experience as a prosecutor positions him well to assist regulators in investigations, disciplinary cases, and other related legal matters. He is also able to apply his prosecutorial assistance to aide professionals in defending their case.
Josh obtained an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree from McGill University, and then completed a joint Law and Master’s in Criminology Degree at the University of Toronto. Josh also has a Master’s in Law from the University of Toronto that focused on expert evidence, and has nearly completed a PhD from Queen’s University, analysing Canadian appellate courts.
In his free time, Josh enjoys reading books and the New Yorker, doing crossword puzzles, cheering for various Toronto sports teams, catching films at TIFF, and spending time with family and friends
